Colorful band names

Musicians are artists … and artists like color. For example, color shows up all the time on album covers. And what would a live concert be without colorful stage designs and light shows. Color is a big part of the whole “musical experience.”

What can I say? Color just makes music (and life) more interesting. Which is probably why a lot of cool bands even have colors in their names. Sure, we all know of bands with sort of boring names … like “Coldplay,” or the “Jackson 5,” or the “Dave Brubeck Quartet.” But some of the best names are a lot more colorful—literally.

Seriously, these names cover the entire light spectrum (… although I can’t think of any famous “orange” names). Anyway, the list goes on, with people like “The White Stripes,” “The Black-Eyed Peas,” “Pink Floyd,” “Silverchair,” “Pearl Jam,” “James Brown,” “Goldfinger,” Macy Grey,” “Blondie,” etc. There are a lot of options, but what do you think is the best band name with color?
